FORNEY, Texas — A crash between a train and an 18-wheeler is blocking intersections in the Downtown area of Forney Friday afternoon, police say.
Forney police said emergency crews responded after a semi truck carrying a backhoe got stuck on the tracks and was hit by a train shortly after 1 p.m. No injuries were reported and there are no concerns about hazardous materials, officials say.
"Supplemental resources have been notified to aid in clearing the incident and restoring access to all crossings. We appreciate the public's understanding and patience as this incident is being addressed," the Forney Police Department said in a statement .
