The Winslow Township High School football team has the ability to be considered one of the best public-school teams in South Jersey history.
It wants to be more than that, and this year it will have a chance to prove it.
The Eagles, coming off a dominating season in which they were 14-0, the Group 4 state champion and the No. 3 team in the state, open the season with a blockbuster matchup against High School Football America No. 5 IMG (Fla.) next Thursday at Ocean City in the Battle at the Beach.
Two weeks later, they will host state No. 1 Bergen Catholic , the sixth-ranked team nationally per High School Football America. Winslow is ranked No. 204 - but with an opportunity to show it is so much better.
