GENESEE TWP, MI- After only a short countdown, Brian Miser shot through the air high above the crowd at the Genesee County Fair from his homemade cannon.
He is one of three in his family to soar through the air as a human cannonball.
Brian first joined the circus when he was only 8 years old, where he trained in an amateur circus for kids as an aerialist in his hometown of Peru, Indiana.
Fifteen years later, he built his first cannon and decided to be a human cannonball.
“The cannon business is very secretive. Nobody will share their secrets with you, so I’m totally self-taught. I just came up with the design and built my own cannon,” Brian said. “I made a little working model, and I would shoot Barbie dolls out of it to see if it works.”
