You may have seen volunteers with a table set up and with Canadian flag imagery at public spaces around Wetaskiwin and Ponoka - and across the province - lately.
In response to a separation referendum question currently before the Alberta courts, a non-partisan organization, 'Forever Canadian' has formed to oppose the movement.
The group believes Alberta belongs in Canada and is undertaking a 90-day campaign to collect the 293,976 verified signatures required by Elections Alberta and Alberta's Citizen Initiative in order to place a different question before voters:
"Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?"
The deadline to collect the signatures is Oct. 28.
