MONTVILLE, Maine — A 50-year-old man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash that happened Friday morning in Waldo County.

Emergency officials responded around 7 a.m. to a report about a motorcycle crash near the intersection of South Mountain Valley Highway and Hogback Mount Road in Montville, where a man was found "unconscious and in serious condition," according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.

The man, whose identity is being withheld by officials at this time, was flown by LifeFlight to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center.

Maine State Police is investigating the crash. Montville Fire and Rescue also responded to the incident.
