Roseville — The attorney for a man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and then dumping her body in a dumpster questioned authorities on Friday about their reason for searching his client's apartment, arguing they were illegal and what was found during them should be suppressed.

Attorney Robbie Lang asked Roseville Police Lt. Scott Burley, Warren Detective Cpl. Darryl Bagiano, Roseville Police Officer Jeffrey Wawrzyniak and Roseville Lt. Thomas Trewhella about multiple searches of DeAndre Booker's home Jan. 3 and Jan. 4 during the fourth day of a preliminary exam in Roseville's 39th District Court for Booker. He also asked about a tip Elkins' mother received that her daughter was being held in a home in Detroit.
