WEST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - College freshmen have been moving into their dorm rooms at colleges across the state.
Parents said goodbye to their children at the University of St. Joseph in West Hartford on Friday.
“Well, I don’t want to cry right now,” said Dennis Dammling of Hamden. “They’re good.”
It was a bittersweet day for the Dammling family.
Their oldest son Ty moved into his room.
“It’s a strange feeling, but I’m really excited to be here,” Ty Dammling said. “I got sports to look forward to. I’m playing baseball during the fall and spring. I have a lot of great teammates [that] I look forward to meeting.”
Halle Fontaine’s’s mom also held back tears as they moved the freshman from Tolland into her dorm.
