ATLANTA — The DeKalb County police officer killed in this month’s shooting near the CDC headquarters in Atlanta will be laid to rest today.
Officer David Rose, 33, died in the line of duty on August 8, when a gunman opened fire outside the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s campus off Clifton Road. The violent attack led to a lockdown near Emory University, and six CDC buildings were hit by gunfire. Officer Rose was the first to respond and was fatally shot.
His funeral is public and planned for Friday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Atlanta. More details on attending the funeral are at the bottom of this article.
