The Baltimore Orioles recently announced they were signing top catching prospect Samuel Basallo to a massive eight-year contract extension to keep him with the team for nearly a decade.
The knee-jerk reaction to a move like this is the idea that franchise superstar Adley Rutschman now becomes expendable for the Orioles.
