BELLAIRE — Balloons Over Bellaire is kicking off August 22nd behind Shanty Creek Resort’s Lakeview Hotel.

15 teams of balloonists will be taking to the skies over Lake Bellaire in colorful hot air balloons.

The event is from 6:30 to 7:30 Friday and Saturday night.

Although no rides will be given, anyone from the public is welcome to come out and enjoy the views that northern Michigan provides.

“I think shanty creek really displays the best of northern Michigan, right? We have the views, the woods, the water, the rolling hills,” says Shanty Creek Director of Marketing Lindsey Southwell. “And, there’s no better way to showcase that than with balloons.
