BRITTANY Mahomes' Kansas City Current has been threatened with a punishment decision due to a weather delay.

The 29-year-old Mahomes is the co-owner of the professional women's soccer team.

Last Saturday, the matchup between the Current and the Orlando Pride in the NWSL was ready to be a showcase game for the league.

The matchup was broadcast on CBS.

However, there was a three-and-a-half-hour weather delay, which hurt the league's plans.

It's now been revealed that NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman wasn't pleased about the delay decision.

Berman threatened to fine the Current after the two sides disagreed over the extreme heat procedures, per The Athletic .

Both teams were concerned about the brutal heat that exceeded 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
