A woman in her 40s with an incurable disease has told how she ignored finding blood on her toilet paper but her worst fears were later confirmed. ‌

Jenny Duncan , 45, was fit and healthy and passed her symptoms off as caused by the stress of her hectic and important job as an assistant head teacher. ‌

She said: "I was only 45, and I thought bowel cancer was something that only happened to older men." But the symptoms continued, The Mirror reports. ‌

Jenny added : “I noticed that I got a sharp pain in my tummy too, but I thought, it’s probably just piles and got on with things." Jenny, from Hull, had also been dealing with excessive bloating and wind after meals.
