KEYSVILLE, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Senator Raphael Warnock has been meeting with small business owners and farmers to learn more about the impact of tariffs on Georgia’s economy.

Georgia is the largest grower of pecans in the nation, and nearly 30 percent of the pecans grown in the us are exported to other countries.

Warnock met with local farmers in the small town of Keysville last weekend to discuss these impacts.

Jeb Barrow’s family opened Three Bees on 100 acres in 1896, shortly after the town’s incorporation.

The farm now sits on nearly 4,000 acres.

A lot has changed over the decades. The United States makes up 80% of the global pecan industry, and Georgia farmers are the nation’s largest producers.
