WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Burke County sheriff no longer wants to seal some proceedings involving his budget lawsuit against county commissioners.

Several months ago, Sheriff Alfonzo Williams sued commissioners with a writ of mandamus – a case requesting that a judge force a government body to do something or stop doing something.

In this case, he said commissioners weren’t letting him control his own budget.

Burke County deputies responded to a crash at the intersection of Highway 25 South and Coleman Young Road at around 1:52 p.m. Thursday.

He initially asked a judge to prevent public access to, or seal, records and hearings involving the case.
