JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) -- The City of Jackson is gearing up once again to host the annual Civil War Muster at the Cascades. The festival will take place this weekend and is the largest and longest-running Civil War event in the Midwest.
"We have over 550 living historians. This is a museum that comes to life right before your eyes. Talk to the historians, see the cannons go off, watch the demonstrations that take place," said President of the Civil War Muster Maurice Imhoff.
The Muster returns, bringing its annual dose of battle reenactments, the All-American Military Ball, homemade root beer, and, of course, some surprise guest speakers.
