LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Officials have launched a campaign aimed at eliminating traffic deaths on Las Vegas Valley roadways.

According to a news release, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has begun a campaign called Zero Fatalities Nevada in an effort to combat dangerous Las Vegas Valley roadways by focusing on awareness, enforcement and education.

Police have teamed up with the Las Vegas Raiders, Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft and Naqvi Injury Law. Farhan Naqvi said the effort is meant to avoid tragedy.

“This is a coordinated effort to raise awareness, change behavior and reduce the number of lives lost on Nevada roads,” Naqvi said.

With 161 traffic-related deaths in Clark County, the effort aims to reduce that number to zero through public outreach, increased patrol
