At 7:14 p.m., San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames stood just outside the right-handed batter's box to a standing ovation from the American Family Field crowd.

By the time the clock read 7:15, he rounded the bases to a shower of boos.

Adames, the fan-favorite Milwaukee Brewers shortstop from 2021-2024, made his return to his former ballpark and responded to the cheers prior to his first at-bat in the top of the first inning Aug. 22 with an even louder swing.

As the ball sailed toward the left field seats for the shortstop's 21st home run of the year, Adames watched it and flipped his bat majestically toward the visitors' dugout. As he rounded the bases, the cheers turned into boos.
