WESTLAKE, Ohio (WJW) - A young family has been trying to pick up the pieces since a fast-moving fire earlier this month destroyed their apartment and most of their belongings.

Will Armstrong, 36, was at work on August 11 when he received a frantic phone call from his fiancée that their apartment building on Westown Boulevard in Westlake was on fire.

"It was like, 'hey, the house is on fire.' I said, ‘what?’ You hear about it all the time and you're like 'yeah, you know that'll never happen' and then it actually happened," he told FOX 8.

Armstrong said his first concern was the safety of his fiancée, 38-year-old Haley Tussey, and the couple's two children, seven-year-old William and four-year-old Edie.
