ENTERPRISE-"His legacy is not written in stone but in the hearts of the hungry he fed, the weary he sheltered and the broken that he helped."

That statement, surrounded by photos spanning decades, welcomed the capacity crowd of friends, family, coworkers, elected officials and fellow clerics attending the official retirement of the man who founded the Enterprise-based Christian Mission Center 42 years ago.

"Thank you for helping celebrate the incredible legacy of Rev. John Belcher," said Open Door Baptist Church Pastor John McCrummen, who emceed the event held at First Methodist Church of Enterprise Monday evening. "This is a time to reflect on a life poured out for others."
