MACON, Ga. — The Northeast and Southwest High School football game Friday ended in the third quarter after a fight broke out on the field, prompting the Georgia High School Association and Bibb County School District to each launch investigations into the situation.

Marvin James, director of media relations with GHSA, said that the association is aware of the fight and will be opening their investigation next week.

He said that they will review videos and interview coaches, game officials, players and administrators to determine what exactly happened.

He added that the game officials will also be a major part of the investigation. He said that the official crews turn in detailed reports of everything that happens during the games.
