EUREKA SPRINGS, Ark. — Arkansas State Police (ASP) said Saturday one person had died after a hit-and-run near Eureka Springs that morning, and investigators were looking for a suspect.
A release from ASP said the crash occurred in the early morning hours of Aug. 23 on Highway 187 near Nightingale Road.
Troopers responded to the area after reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle at around 2:45 a.m. Once on the scene, investigators found one person dead, the release said.
On Monday, ASP identified the victim as Peyton Bowling, 61, of Holiday Island.
Now, ASP said they're looking for a suspect in the incident. The vehicle involved is described as a white Chevrolet truck, "newer model."
