A frantic search has been launched for a man who vanished in Ayrshire over six weeks ago. ‌

James Hendry, 54, has been reported missing from North Ayrshire after failing to contact contact his family since July 5. ‌

Cops describe James as white, around 5ft 8in tall, grey hair which is balding and of medium build, and has a distinctive tattoo on his neck. ‌

James is known to travel to both Glasgow and Bristol.

Police Scotland are concerned for his welfare and urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward. ‌

Sergeant Craig Turnbull said: “We are concerned for James who has not been seen or made contact with his family for a period of time.

"We are carrying out a number of enquiries to trace him.
