AMITE CITY, La. — Response crews are continuing recovery and environmental operations at the site of the in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana State Police said Sunday.

Officials issued an of the Tangipahoa River from LA 10 to LA 22.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is also taking lead in the emergency response. The EPA is deploying emergency contractors to help coordinate and maintain response operations during the transition.

"EPA plans contain any remaining onsite hazardous materials and recover unburned material from the facility in ditches, ponds, and the Tangipahoa River," a release said. "The recovered materials will be transported and disposed of in an EPA-approved facility."
