Police say they found human remains inside a burned car on a rural road northwest of Kamloops, B.C., on Saturday.

Tk'emlups Rural RCMP said in a statement that they responded to reports of a vehicle fire on Tranquille-Criss Creek Road on Aug. 23 and found the burned car, which is believed to be a stolen black 2019 Volkswagen Golf.

No further details identifying the victim have been released by police, who are seeking public information as they look into the death.
