FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A fire broke out in Franklin's Meade of Avalon subdivision Sunday, significantly damaging a home and displacing a family of five.

The Franklin Fire Department said its crews -- along with personnel from Brentwood Fire and Rescue -- were dispatched to a two-story, 3,200-square-foot house just before noon on Sunday, Aug. 24 after receiving 911 calls from multiple neighbors.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, officials said they discovered heavy flames and smoke. Since the first responders weren't sure whether anyone was inside the home, they conducted a primary search.

However, the family later returned to the house and confirmed they were all safe, according to the department. In addition, there were no pets in the home.
