ROSELAND, La. — Clear skies over Roseland on Sunday offered a stark contrast to the thick smoke clouds that blanketed the area just two days earlier, after an explosion rocked the .
While the smoke has largely cleared, the aftermath remains visible throughout the community. Residents continue to find debris from the blast on their properties.
“I got big black chips in my yard that fell out the [sky],” one resident told reporters.
The explosion occurred just before 1 p.m. on Friday. As of Sunday, officials had not yet determined the cause of the incident. According to a Louisiana State Police update posted to Facebook, the fire is now 90% contained. Additional resources have arrived on-site to assist with clearing structural debris and extinguishing remaining hotspots.
