People on Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payments have woken up to an unexpected Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) payment and reference. The DWP sent Universal Credit and PIP claimants a mystery payment on Friday.
But now it has emerged the payment was their regular DWP payouts - but just premature given the Bank Holiday weekend. Bank Holiday Monday means no payments are made, with pensioners instead handed cash on the Friday beforehand.
How often you get paid depends on what type of benefit you claim. Attendance Allowance is paid by the DWP usually every four weeks while Carer’s Allowance is weekly in advance or every four weeks.
