INDIANAPOLIS – Bullets flew into a far east side home Sunday night—and neighbors said it isn’t the first time it’s happened.
Officers were called to a subdivision near 30th and German Church Road around 6 p.m. Sunday after gunfire hit homes in the area.
The Chavez family told FOX59/CBS4 that bullets ended up being lodged into several walls in their home. Some of them went into a little girl’s bedroom.
Police reports show a similar thing happened last year.
The family said a nearby landowner uses a field for shooting practice.
“If you going to have a place to shoot, make it safe,” said homeowner Luis Chavez. “Go to a shooting range. Not in the open. I don't care if it's your land. Something needs to be done. It could have been worse.”
