A helicopter has crashed in a field on the Isle of Wight this Bank Holiday Monday.
Multiple ambulances have been deployed to the scene after the incident near Shanklin Road just before 9.30am.
A police drone is also up, scouring the crash site, but at this stage it is still unclear if anyone has been injured and the exact nature of the incident.
Shanklin Road is currently closed and the police have urged residents to avoid the area.
Witness Leigh Goldsmith told the Isle of Wight County Press she was driving towards Shanklin when she saw the helicopter ‘spiralling’ before it went out of sight and came down in a hedge.
She said she was the first on the scene and saw there were four people on board, and she believed the airbags had been activated.
