ESCANABA — Escanaba tennis continued on the hot start as they took down Kingsford 6-2 in a Great Northern Conference tennis match here Friday.
The Escanaba doubles teams picked up right where they left off as Aubrey Elliott and Brooklyn Hackelman picked up the win at No. 1 doubles 6-1, 6-0. Elliott made a nice play as she returned a ball just inside the line to take the fifth game of the second set.
“I was just looking for openings,” Elliott said. “Trying to take advantage of everything that I can.”
Escanaba’s Sophie Hill and Isabella Noblet picked up the win over Kingsford’s Alaysa Bacon and Mira Johnson in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.
