LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A victim has been identified following an early morning hit and run in Jeffersonville.

Police said the incident happened around 3 a.m. in the 1800 block of 8th Street when a vehicle struck 41-year-old Samuel Carlisle.

Carlisle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not identified the driver or the vehicle they said was responsible for the incident.

“We are asking for the community’s help. If you know something, say something,” Jeffersonville Police said in a statement.

They believe the vehicle could possibly have front end damage.
