Labor Day is a week away and many Michiganders are looking forward to their last three-day weekend of the year.

The first Monday in September, Labor Day , Monday, Sept. 1, 2025, marks the unofficial end of summer: Schools are back in session and pumpkin spice lattes are already being introduced at coffee shops.

In observance of the federal holiday, government buildings and schools will be closed and some establishments will have limited hours.
