DALLAS — Dallas was caught in the crossfire of national politics on Sunday.
California Governor Gavin Newsom's press office posted an image on X , comparing Los Angeles' and Dallas' murder rates based on FBI crime data.
"Dallas' murder rate is nearly 2x higher than Los Angeles'," the post read. "Don't expect Fox News to report that."
The FBI data lists LA's murder rate as 6.95 per 100,000 residents and Dallas' at 13.62. Newsom's posts also took aim at Houston, comparing San Francisco's 35 murders in 2024 to the Texas city's 322.
