PEORIA, Ariz. — 12News is hearing from two Arizonans who fought for their country in the armed forces.
Army veterans Mike Christensen and Craig Derosia said they’d go back and do it again in a heartbeat. They served for at least 20 years.
Christensen and Derosia said they joined the army to find a way to pay for college. Turns out, they loved what the army had to offer.
"Once I joined, I fell in love with it," Christensen said. "I absolutely loved serving. Then it was like, ‘How can I do better? How can I advance and rank?”
Christensen spent 21 years in the National Guard, serving two different deployments in Kuwait and Afghanistan.
