MINNEAPOLIS — These are dark days for fans of the Minnesota Twins, and light at the end of the tunnel seems difficult, if not impossible, to find.
On Sunday, Taj Bradley - the pitching prospect acquired from Tampa Bay in the trade for steady middle reliever Griffin Jax - was shelled by the second-worst team in baseball. Bradley gave up seven earned runs and nine hits in just 5 innings while striking out just one batter in an 8-0 loss to the Chicago White Sox.
Sunday's beat-down followed the debut of starter Mick Abel, who arrived in Minnesota from Philadelphia in a swap for All-Star closer Jhoan Duran as part of the Twins' trade deadline fire sale. Abel, a talented starter who has documented control issues, gave up six earned runs and seven hits in just three innings of work Saturday.
