BOWDOINHAM, Maine — The Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Office has lifted a shelter-in-place order that was issued Monday morning for residents in Bowdoinham.

The order was issued shortly after 10 a.m. for people in the area of 363 Fisher Road and lasted until 10:40 a.m.

Authorities said they were responding to an "emergency incident," though the details about the type of incident or the response was not yet clear.

"Please lock your doors and remain in an interior room of your residence or business until advised that the order has been lifted," the alert read.

In an update noting that the shelter-in-place order had been lifted, Sagadahoc County officials said the incident that prompted the order has been resolved and thanked the community for their cooperation.
