Brandon Woodruff is coming off his worst outing of the season, but Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy said he isn't worried.

Woodruff will take the mound for the Brewers on Monday night in the opener of a four-game series against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks.

The two-time All-Star right-hander suffered his first loss of the season when the Chicago Cubs touched him for three runs on five hits in 4 1/3 innings Tuesday.

Despite the loss, 4-1, Murphy liked one number in the outing: 94, Woodruff's pitch total.

Woodruff is 4-1 with a 2.47 ERA since July 27, when he came back from a 21-month layoff for surgery on his throwing shoulder. The 94 pitches were the most he has thrown this season.
