RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A juvenile was cited when police say they crashed into a bicyclist while operating an electric bike.

At around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers with the Reno Police Department responded to the corner of Veterans Parkway and Rio Wrangler Parkway for a reported collision.

When they arrived, police determined that two juveniles were riding illegal electric motorcycles on the sidewalk and collided with a bicyclist. The bicyclist was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

RPD says the illegal motorcycles did not have proper equipment, such as safety lights and license plates or pedals. The operator was also unlicensed and was subsequently issued a citation.
