A New Jersey lawmaker will propose honoring Bruce Springsteen on Monday, exactly 50 years after “ Born to Run ” helped vault the New Jersey-born singer and his E Street Band to superstardom.
U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, D-6th Dist., said he plans to introduce a House resolution honoring Springsteen and the enduring impact of “Born to Run,” the name of both his third album and the title track that remains his signature song.
The album was released a half-century ago this week — on Aug. 25, 1975.
