Hockey Canada will bring together 92 players from the men’s, women’s and para hockey programs in Calgary this week for a national teams orientation camp.

Scheduled for Aug. 26-28, it’s a three-day, off-ice event that will incorporate team meetings and presentations, team-building opportunities and media availabilities with players, coaches, management and Hockey Canada executives.

It’s seen as the first tangible step in Team Canada’s three-pronged attack on the medal podiums at the 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Milan and Cortina, Italy.

Not every player who attends the orientation camp will wind up on the ice in Italy next February. For instance, 42 National Hockey Leaguers will be in Calgary for the event, while the Olympic roster will consist of just 25. Most of the pre-Game
