Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore spoke publicly Monday, Aug. 25 − to preview the Week 1 contest vs. New Mexico − for the first time since the NCAA Committee on Infractions handed down sanctions to both himself and his program for "overwhelming evidence" of a sign stealing scandal which spanned the 2021-23 seasons.

"Just ready to go play," Moore said Monday. "Can't harp on that now, so just ready to go play the game."

Though the NCAA found "sufficient grounds for a multiyear postseason ban," the panel decided that would "unfairly penalize student-athletes for the actions of coaches and staff who are no longer associated with the Michigan football program."
