The heat is on, folks, and it is going to last a spell. Remember my gut feeling I have shared with you these past several weeks? I had a good hunch that we might get a real hot heat wave that would last for several days.

The way the summer weather went on, it didn’t look like it would happen, with only a couple days of 90 degrees or higher and then back to the 70s and 80s. Finally, a hot area of high pressure over the mid-section of the country has ventured westward to the Four Corners region and now is inching northward toward the Pacific Northwest. That is a different pattern than our earlier warm weather that moved in from a warm area of high pressure out in the Pacific Ocean.
