GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Ford Presidential Foundation is launching a new campaign to raise funds for civic education programs across Michigan and the nation.

The "FORD50" campaign seeks to raise $12 million in philanthropy to fund programs that highlight "civil discourse, a greater understanding of our constitutional system, and the importance of character in leadership."

President Gerald R. Ford served in the Oval Office from 1974 through 1977, and the FORD50 campaign seeks to honor the 50th anniversary of his presidency through civic education.

The FORD50 campaign aims to engage and inspire three key audiences: School-aged youth, college-aged and young adults and lifelong learners.
