The release of Iowa’s Week 1 depth chart in 2025 arrived with some extra anticipation, because for the first time head coach Kirk Ferentz decided not to release one in the summer.
“All it does is get parents mad,” Ferentz said in late April. “Nobody knows the answers. I tell our guys every year, it doesn’t really matter until we start playing what the depth chart says.”
So, now the Hawkeyes are about to play football. So now, the depth chart does matter — probably as much as it will all season.
Iowa plays UAlbany in the 5 p.m. season opener Aug. 30 at sold-out Kinnick Stadium. And five days ahead of the matchup, the Hawkeyes unveiled their two-deeps.
