Cicero, N.Y. — A person killed in a Cicero house fire a week ago still has not been identified by Onondaga County deputies.

That’s because deputies are waiting for identification from the medical examiner’s office, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Thomas Newton said.

The person who died in the house fire was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Jim Perrin, the Cicero fire chief.

Perrin said last week there were signs of extensive hoarding throughout the house and garage, which is on Caughdenoy Road between Amor and Brewerton roads. That made it hard to fight the fire and rescue the person, the chief has said.

“There was only a narrow path,” Perrin said. “Everything else was piled from floor to ceiling.”
