SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Uniformed and armed agents with the Department of Homeland Security were spotted at the San Francisco Ferry Building Monday morning. Three DHS agents were first seen standing at the building's main entrance around 9:40 a.m. Monday.

The agents were not masked but wore tactical vests clearly identifying themselves as DHS. It is unclear what, if anything, the agents were doing outside the popular tourist destination, which draws visitors from countries all over the world.

The agents were spotted just days after President Donald Trump floated the possibility of deploying the National Guard to San Francisco to crack down on crime, following a similar deployment to Washington D.C.
