Beauty executive and founder of Uoma Beauty Sharon Chuter has died at age 38. According to the Los Angeles medical examiner, Chuter died on August 14 and was found on a patio. Her cause of death is still under investigation. This weekend, the news of her passing hit social media, leaving the beauty community shocked.

Nigeria-born Chuter dedicated her life to the beauty industry and has been a catalyst for change and inclusivity throughout her career. She worked as an executive for almost two decades, advancing her career at such companies as L’Oréal and LMVH. In 2019, she launched her own company, Uoma Beauty , a cosmetics brand built on inclusivity, after years of being unsatisfied with the state of diversity at the companies she worked for.
