HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - Owensboro Police say a man has been arrested on multiple charges, including his fourth DUI, after he reportedly hit a police cruiser and attempted to flee the scene.

According to a release, officers were conducting a traffic stop in the southbound lanes of New Hartford Road just before 10:30 p.m. on Sunday when John Warren, 50, of Owensboro struck the rear of the unoccupied police cruiser. After colliding with the police cruiser, authorities say he attempted to flee the scene.

Authorities pursued Warren's vehicle on New Hartford Road before the pursuit came to an end near Burlew Boulevard and Peppertree Lane. Police say Warren appeared to be under the influence of alcohol when he was taken into custody.
