Woodstock opened its preseason with a 5-4 loss Friday against Port Stanley.

Liam Gorman and Rashaad Eichenberg each had a goal and assist for the Navy Vets. Kingston McPherson and Rhylan Warford also scored, while Kobe Nadalin made 19 saves. Port Stanley scored all of its goals in the second period.

Woodstock went 2-for-4 on the power play.

The Navy Vets host Thamesford on Sept. 7 at 7:45 p.m.

Norwich is 3-0 in the preseason.

After a 2-1 win over Port Dover Aug. 15, the Merchants swept a pair of games this past weekend. Josh Robles scored in overtime in Friday’s 5-4 road victory over Aylmer.
