Three witnesses wrapped up testimony Monday in a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence for the owner of a Clinton Township vape shop to stand trial on a charge of involuntary manslaughter connected with the explosion of his shop.
In all, prosecutors called 12 witnesses over three days to testify against defendant Noor Kestou and show Judge Sebastian Lucido there is probable cause that Kestou was grossly negligent in storing nitrous oxide and butane illegally. Prosecutors say Kestou's improper storage of the hazardous materials led to the March 2024 death of 19-year-old Turner Lee Salter.
Salter was struck by flying debris from the explosion and died from his injuries. Investigators still do not know the cause of the fire, said Assistant Prosecutor Carmen DeFranco. DeFranco sai
